Given the emergence of Covid-19 during the past months, Stratford Writers Festival has made the difficult decision to postpone our 5th Season for fall 2020, for the health and safety of Stratford and our book-loving community.

As many of you may know, we cancelled our spring events due to Covid-19 and we were monitoring the situation both here in Stratford and nationally. During the last few weeks the Stratford Festival Theatre put their 2020 season on hold, and Stratford Summer Music postponed their celebratory 20th anniversary. It is always a difficult decision to cancel an event and we recognize that togetherness is more important now than ever. As we continue to support our local booksellers and community, it is possible that we may be able to present some literary events in the fall but this will be dependent on many factors.

In the meantime, we will continue to share with you on our social media channels. We hope that you find some good books to read during this time, and that you and your families are safe and healthy. We appreciate your understanding that we need to protect our community’s health and safety. When we return, we do look forward to continuing the festival tradition of connecting readers and writers here in the arts community of Stratford.
