Stratford Writers Festival enters its fifth season!

We’re excited at the Stratford Writers Festival as 2020 marks our fifth year! In celebration of this milestone we’re offering events throughout the year in addition to our regular fall schedule!

To start off, this spring we will feature events from our alumni and new authors. And of course, our main festival will run this year from October 23 – November 2, 2020.

In April we will be launching two books from local authors! On April 6, 2020 we launch the Stratford For All Seasons series with Phyllis Hinz and Lamont Mackay. This casual drop-in event includes an autographed copy of the $20 Stratford For All Seasons: Theatre & Arts book and an opportunity to meet, greet, and mingle with the authors and other fans of Stratford. On Sunday, April 26, 2020 we launch Alison Wearing’s moving and witty memoir, Moments of Glad Grace. Dan Stacey accompanies Alison in a musical storytelling event with traditional Irish tunes. Her storytelling performance will be followed by a reception with a book signing, snacks and cash bar.

Our special event for Mother’s Day is a brunch with Mary Berg and her mom Myra where you’ll join them for a kitchen party as they sit down to eat and chat. Find out funny stories about Mary as a kid directly from Myra, and hear from both Mary and Myra about their special mother-daughter relationship.

As well, in 2020 the festival will feature its first series of tours: Stratford For All Seasons Discovery Walking Tour. Based on the new Stratford For All Seasons series, the one-hour tours are arranged in small groups to a maximum of 8 people to allow for interaction and questions.

We look forward to seeing you this spring and throughout the year!
